Coed Junior Varsity Track, Coed Varsity Track · Lady Jays 2017 Class 6A State Champions


The Lady Jays came out victorious in the 2017 class 6A state track meet that was hosted at Wichita State University this past weekend.

Friday night kicked off several field events for the Jays and started the team point process to build to a victory come Saturday evening. Junior Hannah Reynolds placed 8th in the discus and freshman Savannah Adams placed 7th in shot put. The day continued with several Jays qualifying for Saturday finals.

Saturday kicked of the end of field events with junior Ayi-lissa Dotson taking 7th in the high jump. Sophomore Keiana Newman was crowned state champion in the 100HH and 300H. The girls 4×100 team was crowned state champs as well with the help of Shamya Banks, Keiana Newman, Lyric Holman and Amaya Booker. The 4×400 team, Tiara Smith, Alana Kramer, Keiana Newman and Nashia Nixon, to help solidify the Lady Jays state title.

High Jump: Ayi-lissa Dotson 7th place

Shot Put: Savannah Adams 7th place

Discus: Hannah Reynolds 8th place

100HH: Keiana Newman 1st place

100M: Amaya Booker 3rd place

Lyric Holman 4th place

4×100: Shamya Banks, Keiana Newman, Lyric Holman, Amaya Booker (alternate                           Makaylah Lemons) 1st place

400M: Lyric Holman 3rd place

300H: Keiana Newman 1st place

Alana Kramer 6th place

200M: Lyric Holman 4th place

Amaya Booker 6th place

4×400: Tiara Smith, Alana Kramer, Keiana Newman, Nashaia Nixon (alternate Amaya                   Booker) 4th place
