XC is Going to State!

The Junction City High School Boys Cross Country team has qualified for the KSHSAA Class 6A State Cross Country Championship.  They qualified by finishing third in the Regional Cross Country Meet held at Warner Park in Manhattan.  Tyler Atkins was the leader for Jays as he finished in sixth place in a time of 16:52. 

Cross Country League Results

The Junction City High School cross country team ran in the Centennial League meet on Saturday at Kanza Park in Topeka. The varsity girls had four finishers.  Lorna Rae Pierce finished in 4th, Amyah O’Neal in 33rd, Murin Burkett 34th, and Ashlynn Shea in 36th. Cross Country Team set PRs in Salina

The Junction City High School cross country team set many personal best on Saturday at Bill Burke Park in Salina. The varsity girls were first to race on the day in a foggy upper 60-degree day race.  They placed 7th as a team.  Lorna Rae Pierce crossed the finish line first for the Blue Jays

Blue Jays hosted the Coach Bob Schmoekel Invitational

Junction City High School hosted the Coach Bob Schmoekel Cross Country Invitational at Milford State Park. The Lady Blue Jays placed 5th in the meet.  They were lead by led by Lorna Rae Pierce who finished in 21st place at 22:02.  Katelyn Atkins was the next Lady Jay across the finish line finishing in 32nd

Cross Country Team runs in the Sunflower Showdown in T-Town

The Junction City High School Cross Country team competed in the Sunflower Showdown in T-Town meet.  The meet was hosted at Washburn Rural High School.  Junction City, Emporia, Manhattan, Lawrence Free State, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Washburn Rural came together to form a meet after the Rim Rock Farm Meet was canceled. Blue Jays Run Well in Buhler

The Junction City High School Cross Country competed in the Buhler Invitational on Thursday.  The meet featured 12 schools. The varsity boys team finished in 6th place.  They were led by Tyler Atkins who finished second in the race in a time of 17:02.  Blake Reed finished in 35th, Neil Naputo in 42nd, Isaiah Smith

Cross Country Team Ran in Emporia

The Junction City Cross Country team competed in the Emporia Cross Country Invitational. The varsity team raced on Saturday morning and the JV raced on Friday night. The Junction City High School Cross Country team competed in the Manhattan Invitation on Saturday. The varsity girls team had four runners compete in the race.  Three of the Lady Jays were running in their first high school cross country race.  Lorna Rae Pierce, a freshman started her high school career by medaling in the race.
